Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The validation hearing will almost certainly be held tomorrow for the 24-year-old woman, charged with attempted murder and aggravated bodily harm. According to preliminary investigations, she was found responsible for running over a 5-year-old boy last Saturday evening in the San Donato neighborhood of Turin and was arrested overnight by the Carabinieri.
"My client is shocked and traumatized, especially because it was absolutely not an intentional act, not only towards the child, but also towards her partner," says the young woman's lawyer, Michele Scaramozzino, who continues: "My client defends herself by saying that there was an argument with her boyfriend because he was caught with another woman, who is the child's mother."
"After an initial encounter with the man and the other woman, who had walked away," the lawyer emphasizes, recounting the 24-year-old's account, "my client followed them for further clarification because she felt she had been mocked. She found them after rounding a bend in the road, but they got scared and changed direction.
At that point she braked but skidded, hitting the car and unintentionally also the child."
"The validation hearing hasn't been scheduled yet, but it will certainly be tomorrow," concludes the lawyer, who notes regarding the charges: "We don't yet have the prosecutor's indictment because the notice of the hearing hasn't arrived yet." Meanwhile, investigations are continuing to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
