(Adnkronos) – The call for applications for new student accommodations published by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is now underway, based on an agreement signed with the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) following the revision of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. (VIDEO)

To access financial contributions of up to approximately €20 per bed—the overall budget is approximately €600 million—applications, open to both public and private entities, may be submitted through the dedicated Online Service until the fund is exhausted and in any case no later than June 29, 2026.

The application procedures are outlined on the CDP website, where frequently asked questions (FAQs) and clarifications have also been published in response to requests from managers interested in the measure. Cassa Depositi e Prestiti also offers a dedicated Customer Service line at 800.020.030, and recordings of the first webinars are available on the CDP website to clarify any questions about the procedures.

Applications are evaluated and funds are allocated using the so-called "one-stop" approach, following the chronological order in which applications are submitted through the dedicated web portal.

Looking at the dates, the call for proposals was published in January, and the closing date for applications for incentives aimed at laying the foundations for a university housing infrastructure capable of meeting the country's needs and prospects is approaching.

There is, however, more time to make the beds available, with the works to be completed by May 15, 2027. Once the student housing works are completed, CDP will provide the facility managers with a non-repayable financial contribution by June 30, 2027.

The initiative, which adds to the existing measure launched in 2024 and managed by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR), aims to reach the threshold of 60 homes, taking into account both the call for proposals launched by CDP and the Ministry's call for proposals.

Each application for admission must provide for at least 18 new beds per residence, and the properties must be located within the provincial capitals where the university is located or in surrounding areas.

Facility managers will be required to guarantee rates at least 15% below the market average and reserve at least 30% of the beds, at even lower prices, for capable and deserving non-resident students, even those without financial resources. Furthermore, the properties must be designated primarily for university student accommodation or residence for 12 years.
