On the night of September 12th to 13th, a group of maranza ravaged the beach resort, leaving a trail of destruction and anger. The owner, arriving at work at 7:30 a.m., found a desolate scene: the door broken off, sun loungers and umbrellas destroyed, chairs overturned, and beer bottles spilled on the floor.
The night devastation: an unprecedented raid
Clarisa Bizzi recounted the night between September 12th and 13th with bitterness. "The first thing I noticed was the door; it was off its hinges," she said. Beyond that door, the devastation was complete. Vandals smashed lounge chairs and umbrellas, overturned chairs, spilled beer bottles on the floor, and stubbed out cigarettes on the furniture, an outrage that left the owner speechless.
"We had stacked up umbrellas and loungers, then stored them in a warehouse. They put out cigarettes on the canvas, ruining them. Now they're all ready to be thrown away," added Bizzi. The damage isn't limited to that: the Maranza also used a blade to cut a plastic sheet that was used to cover a gazebo.
The theft of champagne and money
Not content with trashing the establishment, the vandals also stole €150 and several high-quality bottles of champagne. "Luckily, we had taken the takings; they stole €150," Bizzi explained. "Yes, we were preparing an event with some guests. There were some bottles of champagne that were stolen. Apparently, young hooligans also like champagne."
A summer of terror for the Ferrara coast
This isn't the first raid on Bagno Medusa. "We've been visited before, there have been other raids, but fortunately they didn't destroy anything, just threw chairs and tables in the air," Bizzi said. However, this time the situation has changed. "The Maranza roam in packs, groups of kids, they move and choose their targets. Yes, unfortunately, it happened to us," he added.
The owner also revealed that many tourists are still going to the beach these days, thanks to a September that's been providing splendid weather. "We've put everything back in order, we're back on track, and we have to keep working. There are still a lot of vacationers these days," she stated. However, the overnight devastation has left a deep mark.
Yet another raid is circulating on social media, this summer to forget at the seven beaches repeatedly targeted. "Several incidents, as I said, but nothing serious. So we didn't even file a complaint with the Carabinieri; we would have achieved very little," Bizzi concluded. The night between September 12th and 13th marked a major escalation in the hooliganism, with devastation and anger that left significant damage.
