(Adnkronos) – "I'm sorry for Diego's decision to leave this adventure we began together over forty years ago. Especially now, as we prepare to celebrate fifty years of music at its best, with ten concerts in Rome!" Thus began Vasco Rossi's post on his social media profiles about the decision of Diego Spagnoli, his longtime stage manager, to end his partnership with the rocker.
"The largest residency ever held in Italy," Vasco continues, "together for the whole of June, for a sort of secular 'jubilee.'" The guitars are here... we're gearing up for miracles! I thank Diego for his joy, his professionalism, and all these years together. He was my partner in crime on stage. I wanted him by my side from day one: Guido took care of the hiring, I took care of the selection.
Everyone had their own job… luckily!”.
Yesterday, Spagnoli confirmed the divorce, explaining that it was his choice and that he would never reveal the reasons.
“As for the reasons for the separation, there's no mystery. He'll never tell you, but I'll tell you: during rehearsals, we had an argument on stage, in front of two people.
I was nervous and tense, but that's no excuse. I told him what I thought and he felt offended. I'm sorry,” Blasco writes, concluding: “He completed the tour with great professionalism and, after the last concert, he sent me a video explaining his reasons. Of course, Diego is irreplaceable. Diego is Diego. But we have to move on and we will find a solution to continue the show. Never say never... time will tell. I wish him all the best in the world, with affection and gratitude. The journey continues... and see you in Rome!”
