Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The 2026 Vuelta a España is back. Today, Tuesday, September 8, the Spanish stage race will present cyclists with the 16th stage, the 181,1-kilometer Cortegana-La Rábida, Palos de la Frontera. The stage features an undulating first section with numerous climbs and descents, followed by a completely flat second section.
There are no GPMs that award points for the polka-dotted jersey.
What is the route of stage 16 of the Vuelta? Today's stage is 181,1 kilometers long and presents no particular elevation gain. After starting in Cortegana, the riders will tackle a short climb before reaching Fuenteheridos at kilometer 22. They will then descend through Aracena and continue towards the Riotinto mines.
The flattest part of the day begins at kilometer 111, with the intermediate sprint in Villarrasa at kilometer 114,5 of the stage. After a short climb and subsequent descent to Lucena del Puerto, the riders will tackle the final part of the stage on rolling terrain that passes through Moguer and Palos de la Frontera before a possible sprint finish in La Rábida.
The entire Vuelta a España will be broadcast live on Eurosport 1 and streamed on discovery+ and HBO Max, as well as on packages that include Eurosport channels (Dazn, Timvision and Prime Video Channels).
The 16th stage will start at 13.05pm and finish around 17.30pm.
