France continues to experience a surge in protests, bringing people to the streets, naturally divided according to their beliefs. They range from the Yellow Vests to students, who are loudly protesting to demand school reform, which they believe requires a change from a system stuck in the past. In the midst of all this, the Black Blocs are causing serious unrest and damage in various cities.
Protests in France: CNews headquarters attacked
The protests in France are not only being heard in the streets and squares but are also targeting news outlets, one of the most important being the headquarters of CNews , a television station considered the “Fox News of the Alps” which, being run by an ultra-conservative, is considered an enemy by the protesters.
The protesters themselves decided to blockade the television group's offices, effectively preventing employees from working and broadcasting their content. The protests resulted in objects being thrown at the windows, causing extensive damage.
The raids against the TV channel saw over 100 people protesting what was broadcast, and not a dozen as initially reported by the country's main newspapers.
Protests in France: Unauthorized marches in Lyon and Marseille
Not only attacks against CNews, but demonstrations also took place in other parts of the country. In Rennes, protesters set up a checkpoint near a shopping center, equipped with garbage cans and pallets.
The real nerve centre was the city of Lyon where, as reported by Ansa , a group of 40 people were dispersed near a bridge over the Rhone after attempting to obstruct traffic.
Finally, in Marseille, the area affected by the protests was Boulevard du Prado, which was blocked off with dumpsters, and in the city center, the town hall was attacked, briefly allowing protesters to enter. A police station located on the Canebière was also attacked, with windows broken and grenades thrown inside.
