(Adnkronos) – "I'm not a big fan" of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, said US President Donald Trump, who in an interview with Newsmax explained that, in his opinion, negotiating with him is more difficult than with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump also criticized Ukraine's decision to resume attacks on Russian oil refineries.
“Zelensky is not an easy person for us to deal with,” Trump said during the interview.
"I find it harder to deal with Zelensky than Putin," he said. "As you know, Putin hates Zelensky and Zelensky hates Putin. And when there's this hatred, it's very difficult to reach a solution," he declared. "I think we need elections, because no one is telling me that the Ukrainians are happy with having missiles raining down on their apartment buildings," Trump said.
Asked about the new attacks in Ukraine, Trump said they were driving up global energy prices.
"If you tell me Zelensky is hitting refineries again, the only result is a rise in world oil prices," he said. "Well, I think that's a disgrace. There are many other targets... There are other targets that can be hit," Trump continued.
