Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – It's now official. Today, Sunday, November 1, 2026, Italian Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli became the new Formula 1 world champion. The title will bring him an additional €73 million ($86 million) between now and 2030. This is according to a study conducted by StageUp, a sports marketing and sponsorship research and consultancy firm, which released its findings a few days ago before the Mexican Grand Prix.
At 20 years old, Antonelli is the youngest World Champion in the history of Formula 1.
A monstrous figure, which with a second title by 2028 would rise to over 105 million euros (124 million dollars).
StageUp conducted the study based on its own and public sources (including Forbes, F1 Salaries, Gazzetta dello Sport, and Milano Finanza).
This is the explanation given before the Mexican GP by StageUp president Giovanni Palazzi: "Last September, together with Gazzetta dello Sport, we estimated Antonelli's potential value at €50 million if he doesn't win the World Championship. The title doesn't create Kimi's value: it accelerates and consolidates his success.
Winning the World Championship would make him the youngest champion in Formula 1 history, laying the foundation for lasting sporting and commercial leadership. Formula 1 finds in him a natural ambassador for Generation Z, while Italy, with a World Championship victory, would rediscover a champion it has been waiting for since 1953. Antonelli has the competitive ability, the age, and the maturity to sustain this growth and this responsibility over time." In short, accelerated growth for Kimi. And above all, a Formula 1 World Championship title.
