Menopause symptoms such as hot flashes or disturbed sleep can impact women's cardiovascular health and also have significant consequences for other areas of their lives. 62,4% of women reported giving up at least one activity or performing it less effectively. There's also a health issue, as moderate or severe hot flashes can be associated with an increased cardiovascular risk.
So the important message here is not to simply consider these symptoms something to endure because our grandmothers and mothers before us endured them, but to talk about them with your doctor. Talking about them raises awareness and normalizes the changes. At Bayer, we have always been committed to women's health.
Currently, there are several approaches that must be evaluated by a doctor based on symptoms, medical history, needs, and even the preferences of each woman. We want to contribute, through innovation and research, to ensuring that women can navigate this long phase of their lives with personalized solutions.
This is what Simona Gatti, Medical Director of Bayer Italia, said, commenting on the data from the AstraRicerche survey for Bayer Italia released on the occasion of World Menopause Day.
