Maira, the former M5S parliamentarian, has been hospitalized since this morning after being transferred from the Havana hospital where he underwent head surgery following the illness he suffered on August 28, while he was in Cuba reporting.
He returned to Italy today on a medical flight, about two weeks after his illness.
After a stopover in Luxembourg, Di Battista returned to Ciampino Airport shortly after 7:00 this morning. He was then transferred to the Gemelli Hospital by ambulance, wearing a large bandage on his head.
