"Is he breathing?", "He's dead, ah," "Shit... I don't care." These are some of the phrases exchanged between the two police officers who intervened on July 19th at the Pilastro station in Bologna when Abderrahim Fakir died, taken from the bodycam of one of the two officers and reported in the forensic report ordered by the Bologna prosecutor's office. The conversation then continues with one officer saying: "I'm fine, I'm fine, but next time I'll explain to you in detail how it's done, because this way we'll get hurt."

At the 11:06 mark of the video, the patient is announced to be in cardiac arrest. "Patient in cardiac arrest, let's start CPR," says one of the paramedics. During the resuscitation attempts, one of the two police officers concludes: "If he dies, we'll have some fun."

According to the final report of the technical consultancy, Fakir died of acute respiratory failure caused by three 'contributing causes': being crushed in a prone position while the two police officers held him down, cocaine use, and heart problems.

Six people are registered in the preliminary register for manslaughter in this incident, including two officers and four Red Cross volunteers who responded to the scene.

"The prosecutor's consultants were unable to rule out the contributing role of the prone position imposed on poor Fakir on the afternoon of July 19th in Bologna, in his death," says lawyer Fabio Anselmo, who is representing Abderrahim Fakir's family.

"However, our consultant, Professor Vittorio Fineschi, after acknowledging the significant discrepancy between what they argued at the final meeting held in Padua and what was written in the consultancy report, will draft his own report, which I will submit to the Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office in the coming days."
