(Adnkronos) – "Today we can say that sustainability is an essential factor for companies, but it's not just what you do on the ground, but also how you do it" in the pursuit of the green transition. This is what Andrea Giustini, the Genoese founder and president of EcoEridania, told Adnkronos live from Ecomondo, the event on the green, blue, and circular economy, at the Rimini Fiera until November 6.
"The same sustainability regulations reward and enable companies to be more competitive, more effective, have greater market appeal and therefore achieve higher turnover and higher revenue," adds Giustini, convinced that sustainability is truly a strategic lever for business competitiveness.
“Being sustainable,” says Giustini, “also allows us to look at hardship and do good things; it means making sustainability a common factor in helping those most in need.
With our EcoEridania Insuperabili Foundation, we allow more than 1.000 disabled children to play football: in Italy, we are the largest organization in the world in this sector and we are very proud of it and that for us is being sustainable."
How important is it to have a well-functioning capital market in Europe too? "It's fundamental," Giustini maintains, "as is our approach as entrepreneurs.
Until 15 years ago, I was a small entrepreneur representing a small Genoese company. I had a small stake in the pie, but today I have a slice of a huge pie, and it couldn't have become what it is without the union of the worlds of finance and business. Finance can't create business, but must serve it, and what's needed is courage, loyalty, education, and fearlessness.
