(Adnkronos) – Acea is again participating in Ecomondo 2026, the leading European event dedicated to the green and circular economy, now in its 29th edition, confirming its commitment to developing sustainable models for resource management, industrial innovation, and environmental protection. Continuing the path undertaken in recent years, the Group will be present with Acea Ambiente, which will bring to Rimini its vision of the ecological transition, based on technological innovation, the circular economy, and the recovery and valorization of resources.
Today, the company is one of the leading operators in the sector nationwide: it manages 20 plants throughout Italy, employs approximately 800 people, and in 2025 treated over 1,6 million tons of waste, operating across the entire recovery, treatment, and disposal cycle.
Acea will be present with a stand in Pavilion D3 and will participate in technical and institutional panels, conferences, and round tables, showcasing its experience in the sector.
New to the 2026 edition will be the work "Set Point" (2017) by Roman artist Giovanni de Cataldo, displayed in the center of the stand. Created from a guardrail deformed during a crash test and subsequently covered in fluorescent yellow felt, the work represents a reflection on the concept of transformation and the value of resources.
Inspired by the principle formulated by Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier, according to which "nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed," the work offers a reflection on the value of matter and the possibility of giving new meaning to what has seemingly exhausted its function. This message recalls the principles of the circular economy promoted by Acea Ambiente, where the recovery and valorization of materials become concrete tools to generate new value, reduce waste, and generate new opportunities for the environment and local communities.
The Group's participation in Ecomondo 2026 is accompanied by a series of events dedicated to the key themes of ecological transition, the circular economy, and industrial innovation. Specifically, today, Acea Ambiente CEO Gabriele Di Cintio will participate in the ESG CEO Summit 2026, an opportunity for discussion among the top executives of leading companies committed to sustainability and the integration of ESG criteria into their development strategies. Tomorrow, November 4, Acea Ambiente will host the conference "Extension of the ETS Regulation to Waste-to-Energy Plants. Industrial Impacts, Technological Challenges, and Economic Prospects," dedicated to the effects of the proposed inclusion of waste-to-energy plants in the European Emissions Trading System. On November 5th, the conference "The Physical Side of the Cloud: The Environmental Challenge of Data Centers" is scheduled to focus on the environmental and infrastructural challenges posed by data center development, with particular attention to the sustainable management of energy, water, and materials resources throughout the entire life cycle of these infrastructures.
