Interventional Radiology at the Goretti Hospital, a leading neurovascular hub, is also a leader in Italy—with over 100 cases annually—in the use of SIRT, endovascular procedures for the treatment of liver tumors using radioisotopes.
The Unit, headed by Dr. Cesare Ambrogi, also stands out for its practice of endovascular embolization, an innovative technique that offers excellent results in the treatment of pain from osteoarthritis resistant to medical therapy. The Interventional Radiology Unit at Latina Hospital, which operates 24 hours a day, treats an average of over 100 stroke cases and 40 cerebral aneurysms each year. The more than 2000 cases treated annually, in fruitful and synergistic collaboration with the Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, and Gastroenterology Units, also involve delicate thoracoabdominal and vascular conditions.
