At 17:03 PM on Sunday, September 19, the shopkeeper sent a WhatsApp message to the father, stating, " Honey, the girls are here, inside the shop ." The woman explained that she had made a quick search for the girls without deeming it necessary to alert the police, which is why the message was sent only after the inspection.
Intervention by the authorities
The rescue operation culminated with the two minors being transported by ambulance to the Sant'Elia Hospital in Caltanissetta, where they underwent medical checks. The results confirmed that the girls are in good health . After the checks, they were discharged and transferred to a secure facility, where they will be welcomed along with their siblings.
