Diaco in the turmoil after the interview with Ravagnani, Milly Carlucci protests: Rai's decision

Ravagnani's controversial interview, Carlucci defends the Ballando contestant and distances himself from Diaco: Viale Mazzini does not intervene.

The controversy between Pierluigi Diaco and Alberto Ravagnani continues to rage on RAI following the BellaMà interview, which drew criticism for questions about the former priest's private life. Following Milly Carlucci's harsh stance, expressing solidarity with the Dancing with the Stars contestant, the position of Viale Mazzini management has emerged.

Milly Carlucci takes a stand on the Diaco-Ravagnani case: "What happened is unacceptable."

Pierluigi Diaco's interview with Alberto Ravagnani , which aired Tuesday on BellaMà on Rai2, continues to fuel controversy and has even involved some of the most well-known figures in public service broadcasting. At the heart of the discussion is the tone the host used when asking the former priest of the Diocese of Milan, now a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, questions about his private life and relationships.

A conversation that caused discomfort in the guest and numerous criticisms from the public, but above all the reaction of Milly Carlucci , who wanted to openly demonstrate her closeness to Ravagnani , personally chosen for the cast of the Rai1 dancing show.

The host posted a note on Instagram, shared with the show's creators, in which she made no secret of her disappointment over what happened: " Regarding the well-known facts, we consider what happened unacceptable and we publicly renew to Alberto all our affection and solidarity, which has already been repeatedly expressed by our entire team in private ."

The message also reiterates the desire to continue their television career based on mutual respect: " We thank Alberto Ravagnani for accepting the invitation to Dancing with the Stars and for sharing his life experience with us. We are happy to continue our human and artistic journey together, with profound respect for each individual ."

The position has garnered widespread support, including from Carolyn Smith and Rossella Erra, both of whom are associated with the program, as well as Aurora Ramazzotti, Elena Sofia Ricci, and Fabio Fognini. The matter has thus transcended the confines of a television debate, becoming a case directly involving two programs from the same company.

RAI does not sanction Diaco: no distancing, Viale Mazzini's position

Rai's top management has a different stance, at least for now. According to Fanpage , Viale Mazzini has no intention of taking action against Pierluigi Diaco , nor of publicly distancing itself from the host. The matter is considered primarily an internal issue, since it pits two programs owned by the same company against each other: Ballando con le Stelle, Rai1's flagship Saturday night program, and BellaMà, Rai2's afternoon program. The consensus among Rai circles is that Diaco may have gone too far in his manner and language, but not necessarily in his choice of topics. Meanwhile, the controversy has also reached the political sphere. Federica Frangi, a member of the Rai board of directors nominated by the Brothers of Italy party, recalled the principle that " the freedom to ask questions must always be respected ."
