From social media to cinema: Pietro Checchi's journey

Pietro Checchi began to gain fame on TikTok in 2020 thanks to his videos and lip-syncs, amassing approximately 1,8 million followers. Passionate about music, fitness, and basketball, Pietro studied philosophy at the University of Florence and began taking his first steps in the world of acting in 2025.

After his experience in Risotto Western, Pietro joined the cast of Non è Un Paese Per Single, a film available on Prime Video in 2026. In the film, set in Tuscany, he stars alongside Cristiano Caccamo and Sebastiano Pigazzi . Pietro said: “ Medicine requires too much perseverance. In recent years, I have been able to combine study with my passions .”

Physical Italia: Pietro's new challenge

Pietro Checchi is one of the 100 contestants chosen to participate in Physical Italia: from 100 to 1, the program produced by Endemol Shine Italy and available on Netflix starting September 11. The arena is set up at the Lingotto in Turin, where the contestants will compete in physical and mental tests.

The participants also include top-level athletes such as Federica Pellegrini, Jury Chechi , and Tania Cagnotto, along with Elisabetta Canalis , Mirco Bergamasco , Alvise Rigo , and Luis Sal . Pietro, who is not a professional athlete, is the underdog of the cast, but he is determined to prove his worth.

The challenges of Physical Italia

The show's mechanics are simple: there are 100 people starting out, and the goal is to get to one. Round after round, the contestants are eliminated until the final challenge. It's not just physical strength that counts: the various challenges also test endurance, agility, tenacity, the ability to handle pressure, courage, and aptitude for collaboration.

Pietro Checchi said: " If I hadn't gotten injured, I would have continued with artistic gymnastics. My idol as a child was Yuri Checchi, who I later found on the program ." Participating in Physical Italia represents a new experience for him in front of the cameras and a chance to test himself in a completely different context.

Valdarno on Netflix: Beatrice Beni and Pietro Checchi

Alongside Pietro Checchi, Beatrice Beni from Figline Valdarno is also participating in Physical Italia. Born in 2000, Beatrice is a bodybuilder and posing coach who began dancing as a child. Her participation in the program represents an opportunity to rediscover aspects of herself that she had neglected.

Beatrice said: “ Participating in the Netflix program allowed me to rediscover my body and get to know other parts of myself that I had neglected. Being able to compare myself with so many other physiques also made me realize that you can do more, without focusing on just one thing .”

The first season of Physical Italia will consist of eight episodes. The first three will arrive on Netflix on Friday, September 11th, episodes 4 and 5 will be available from September 18th, episodes 6 and 7 will be released on September 25th, and the finale is scheduled for Friday, October 2nd. For Pietro Checchi and Beatrice Beni, this is a unique opportunity to showcase their talent and determination.
