(Adnkronos) – “As long as I describe it as someone who fires shots to defend himself and his family, I think we can all agree, but self-defense already exists for that; but is that what happened? No, the facts say something different, and the judges have decided on those facts. The facts say that a person, once the danger had passed, chased and fired shots at two people on the public road and attempted to kill a third.

"In light of this, the judge imposed a very lenient sentence." This was stated by Giuseppe Tango, president of the National Association of Magistrates (ANM), speaking at the Salone della Giustizia on the case of jeweler Mario Roggero, adding that "in light of this, the result of politics has been to attack the judges for a sentence that, at a legislative level, is correct.

Don't want that law? Then let's have the courage to change the law and take political responsibility."

Tango launched a "provocation": if one wants a "law that declares absolute impunity for those who, for a wrong suffered, take revenge on themselves, very well, the judges, net of any possible constitutional frictions, will apply it but as long as the authors of that provision are not targeted, who have been the object of media lynching."
