Pizza should not be included in school cafeteria menus in Russia because "it is harmful to children's health." This was requested by Elena Yampolskaya, advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin on cultural, linguistic, and educational policies. Yampolskaya believes that pizza, for children to eat, requires parental consent.

"Pizza absolutely shouldn't be a food that should be present in schools, because it's not good for children. It's one thing for a child to eat it with parental permission or to celebrate something, but it's another thing entirely to consume it in the school cafeteria. I'm very surprised that something like this exists," Yampolskaya told reporters.

Yampolskaya, who has been sanctioned by both the European Union and the United Kingdom, stressed that food served in schools must be healthy.

"Russian cuisine is magnificent. Let's at least give our children the opportunity to try it," he added.

In recent days, the director of the Foundation Against Corruption and for National Security, pro-Kremlin activist Vitaly Borodin, denounced pizza as "soft power in a cardboard box." In a Telegram post reposted by the Moscow Times, Borodin wrote that "for a thousand years, our grandmothers have been baking traditional pies, and now they're selling us schiacciata smothered in Italian ketchup.

Let me remind you that Italy is on the list of hostile countries and supplies weapons to the Kiev regime."
