Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – Serie A Women takes to the field wearing the AIRC Pink Ribbon, a reminder that prevention and research are essential to making breast cancer increasingly curable. This was announced by the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research.
“Every year in Italy there are over 56,000 new diagnoses of breast cancer, a tumor that affects 1 in 8 women during their lifetime,” recalls Airc. “Thanks to advances in research, since the 1990s, survival has increased from 78% to 89,5%.
These numbers translate into thousands of lives saved. However, much remains to be done to combat the most aggressive forms. For this reason, we encourage women to adopt healthy behaviors and undergo regular check-ups. Together, we can help AIRC researchers develop increasingly effective treatments, so that every woman has the same chance of recovery.
