(Adnkronos) – Two manure bins were overturned in front of Turin City Hall, right in the square where protesters had gathered. This marked the start of the day of protests in the Piedmontese capital, where several thousand people participated in the march organized by the USB (Italian Social Security Organization) on the occasion of the general strike. The demonstration, which started from Piazza Palazzo di Città, was opened by a banner reading: "Stop the high cost of living, no to war, no to rearmament.
We produce wealth, you thieves of the future."
The procession then crossed Via Milano and Corso Giulio Cesare, heading towards Piazza Derna, on the northern outskirts of the city.
