Bomb scares on airplanes: cases from recent days
As we saw this morning, Thursday, November 5, 2026, there was another bomb threat on a plane, this time departing from Dublin and bound for Rome, Italy. The aircraft was diverted to Normandy. Over the past week, approximately ten flights in Europe have been targeted by false bomb threats: four of these alerts involved Ryanair flights: one from Manchester to Murcia, Spain, one from Lisbon to Rome, one from Dublin to Rome, and one from Dublin to Sofia. Last Tuesday, for example, the alarm was raised shortly before 09:00 a.m. with an anonymous email sent to the airline ADR announcing bombs on two Ryanair flights arriving from Lisbon and Dublin. Security protocols were immediately activated , and two Italian Air Force Eurofighters were scrambled to escort the flight from the Irish capital to its landing at Rome airport.
