"Pasquale always leaves me speechless." Barbara d'Urso's assessment of Pasquale La Rocca and Ornella Muti's performance on the fifth episode of Dancing with the Stars lit up the evening of October 31st on the show hosted by Milly Carlucci on Rai Uno. The pair's freestyle wowed everyone, including d'Urso.
The judge's words, however, spark controversy. "Pasquale's choreography always leaves me speechless," says d'Urso, who doesn't mention Ornella Muti after issuing a particularly harsh technical review last week. "Doesn't Muti have ballerina feet?" Simona Ventura asks the judge. "Enough provocations and obsessions," Barbara d'Urso tries to retort.
Francesca Fialdini's intervention reignites the discussion: "I'm sorry, there's a sense of tension. It's incredible that a juror can't find the words to describe what we just saw. I don't want to bother anyone; I'm asking Pasquale..." says Fialdini.
"I don't understand why people keep talking about this. I'm a jury member and I've been called to give my opinion.
"I'm being called out for what I did with my ex-dancer," blurts out d'Urso, who competed with La Rocca in the last edition. "Now I'm here to give my opinion and I say I'm speechless about Pasquale's choreography. Period. There are some things I didn't like, but there's no point in talking about them. It's my opinion, it's what I saw. I said that last week there was nothing new compared to what we had seen previously. I don't want to sit here and argue; I'm just saying that I'm in awe of what Pasquale has created. I give opinions on all the couples. Don't bring me up again, please," she adds. Case closed? No. If Ornella Muti stays silent, Pasquale La Rocca breaks the ice.
"Barbara, forgive me if I'm being presumptuous: in five episodes it seems like every judgment is insincere. I'd like to receive honest comments, but for five episodes you've been going around in circles without finding the point: the contestant is Ornella Muti," says Pasquale La Rocca. "You throw a stone and hide your hand," adds Guillermo Mariotto. "You're rude, Mariotto: you don't speak above other people. Okay, for me it ends here," concludes d'Urso, who – like Carolyn Smith – gives the score an 8: for the rest, all 10s for a total of 46.
