Anti-vax doctors get green light for reinstatement: Vannacci plays a key role
The Chamber of Deputies has approved Article 8 of the bill on healthcare professions, which provides for the reinstatement of anti-vax doctors.
The green light was actually achieved by the skin of their teeth, with 126 opposition votes in favor and 113 against, leaving a margin of only 13 votes. Some Forza Italia MPs did not vote. The "yes" votes from Roberto Vannacci 's party, Futuro Nazionale, were decisive : "If Vannacci's eight supporters had voted against, it would have ended with 121 against and 113 in favor, and the law would not have passed ," explains MP Rossano Sasso. The article in question, namely number 8 of the bill on healthcare professions, introduced during the committee's examination at the proposal of FdI, provides for the possibility of reinstatement for anti-vax doctors who had been struck off the register during the Covid pandemic.
But here's the opposition's reaction to the Chamber's approval of the reinstatement of anti-vax doctors.
Anti-vax doctors approve reinstatement: opposition reacts
As we have seen, with 126 votes in favor (113 against), the Chamber gave the green light to the reinstatement of anti-vax doctors, who will therefore be able to return to service.
The opposition is furious, with Elena Bonetti of Azione stating: "We can tell it however we want, but today we are reinstating these doctors who have disavowed the responsibility that their ethical obligations imposed on them. How will they behave regarding the Mrna vaccine for tumors?" The 5 Star Movement shares this opinion : "You are slapping the doctors who followed the rules and a slap in the face to the victims of Covid ," said Marianna Ricciardi, also recalling that these struck off anti-vax doctors "tried to treat tumors with BAC flowers, very serious infections with fermented papaya, and they chose anti-science ." Devis Dori of Avs: " A vote that is an insult to all the doctors and health workers who did their duty during that dramatic period ," while Democratic Party member Ilenia Malavasi spoke of "a dangerous precedent" that risks "mystifying the memory of a very difficult period for our country .
