(Adnkronos) – "The innovative interactive conference format has revealed a very pragmatic Asstra. The message we want to convey is that transport companies have changed: they are more technologically advanced and much more energy-intensive, therefore they deserve a legal status that recognizes this role." These are the words of Andrea Gibelli, president of Asstra, at the 20th edition of the Asstra National Conference, scheduled for October 21 and 22 at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel in Rome, entitled "Valuable Mobility, Value for Mobility."

Gibelli then addressed the issue of rising energy costs and resources allocated to local public transport, highlighting the need to link fuel price trends to fares: "We have put forward proposals, including consistently linking fuel costs to fares because this allows us to continue providing a service as stipulated in the contracts."

"We offer jobs in sectors that are still largely identified with drivers," Gibelli concluded. "Today, being an employee of a transport company means having skills in the energy and digital sectors. And this also means a very different way of traveling for drivers than in the past."
