Adnkronos (Adnkronos) –
Criticism of Josep Martinez. Today, Tuesday, October 13, Inter hosted Club Brugge at San Siro in the second matchday of the Champions League domestic season, a match marred by a blunder from the Spanish goalkeeper, who had already played poorly in his debut against Real Madrid.
It all happened in the 64th minute. Forbs outplayed Dimarco and managed to spectacularly outwit Martinez, who ran away from his own goal and made a reckless run, with the ball then passing between his legs and landing at the feet of Tresoldi, who slotted home into an empty net to make it 2-1 for Belgium.
The Nerazzurri's anger against Martinez was unleashed on X: "Josep, I defended you, but that's enough now," was the widely shared thought of one fan.
"Provedel should start immediately," another user cried, thus calling for a change in the goalkeeping hierarchy. "Chivu needs to wake up, Martinez is no longer reliable." The thought, however, is summed up in a simpler way: "Martinez out."
