José Mourinho is preparing to return to the Olimpico. Roma will host Real Madrid on Matchday 2 of the Champions League, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14, in a match that will be special for the Special One, who currently sits on the Blancos' bench and who will return for the first time to the stadium where he spent two and a half years.
Mourinho will be greeted with a special welcome from his former fans: "I'm not returning as an enemy, but during the 90 minutes, the Roma fans are with Roma and I'm with Real Madrid," the Portuguese coach warned. "If people want to give me a special greeting, I'd like to hug the Roma fans too."
"This is life and this is football. Maybe tomorrow I'll have the opportunity to feel the love of the people and I'll try to control myself even if I don't know if I'll succeed," said Mourinho, recalling how he didn't have the chance to say goodbye to the Giallorossi fans after his dismissal in January 2024. "I've been treated well at many clubs, but the Roma fans are certainly special people."
