(Adnkronos) –
It's not just the "yes" or "no" dilemma. Also plaguing the Chamber of Deputies' stability is the "danger" of air conditioning. In recent months, many parliamentarians have been forced to stockpile paracetamol and nebulizers to treat particularly bothersome colds and bronchitis. Among the "victims" is Rita Dalla Chiesa, a member of the Italian National Party (National Party), who contracted pneumonia from the air blasted into the chamber, even in the fall, and who is now voicing the bipartisan discontent of numerous colleagues.
So much so that he allegedly sent a letter to the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies through his lawyer, demanding an explanation and a rise in the temperature, not just in the Chamber. "Less cold air for everyone," jokes a Forza Italia parliamentarian, taking inspiration from the famous slogan coined by Silvio Berlusconi for the 2001 election campaign and which appeared on the "6X3" posters.
"I've been sick, and many of my colleagues have caught colds, had sore throats, and were forced to cover themselves with scarves and shawls, even this summer," the Forza Italia MP confides, her voice still hoarse. The real problem, she explains, is the freezing air, which "they always leave open, and I don't understand why. I didn't ask them to remove it," otherwise "how would you cope with the tropical heat of a few months ago?" Instead, "I simply suggested raising the temperature" to achieve a 'normal', more tolerable cold.
Now winter is approaching and it goes without saying that the refrigeration system needs to be calibrated, but even in the hottest months, Dalla Chiesa emphasizes, "if it's that cold in Montecitorio, we can get sick more easily."
