(Adnkronos) – Maria Attanasio, poet and writer, is the author of the poem dedicated to "Pegasus - The Winged Horse," the sculpture donated by the Antonio Presti Foundation along with the "Pegasus Gate," created in Librino with 5.000 tiles created by neighborhood children and their mothers. "No one is a periphery; the child of Librino is not a periphery, just as the castaway, someone from the southern hemisphere seeking a better life, is not a periphery," Attanasio, who has collaborated with the Presti Foundation for many years, declared this morning on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Pegasus Gate.

"There is no periphery, no one is a periphery, because the center of art, the center of life, is humanity. Humanity," he added, "is something we must recognize, for which there is no difference between East and West, at least from the perspective of human equality. Between the castaway and me, who am easily privileged, between the child from Librino and the child from the elegant center of Catania, there is no periphery: because the only certainty and the only core that distinguishes us is the humanity within us, which must be respected and reconsidered."
