(Adnkronos) – Dreams and the ability to dream are the legacy that the Antonio Presti Foundation donated with today's event to the thousands of children who attended the inauguration in Catania's Librino neighborhood of the statue "Pegasus, the Winged Horse" by artist Antonello Bonanno Conti and the new terracotta installation "The Door of Pegasus," featuring 5000 artifacts made by neighborhood children. The installation was part of the Triennale della Contemporaneità, promoted by the Sicilian Region in collaboration with the Intesa Sanpaolo bank's charitable fund.

"Dreaming is simple, very simple: just resign from your egocentricity, remove the ego, reclaim the "we," humbly resume and restore power to the greatest value of power, which is the democracy of knowledge. Knowledge is freedom, slavery is ignorance." This was stated by patron Antonio Presti, who added: "Today let us free ourselves and try to remain attentive and vigilant from the slavery of the algorithm, which certainly is not an embrace of emotion.

This morning, artists, the population, schools, children, and mothers are demonstrating and confirming more than ever what value and power still hold true today, which is not algorithms or artificial intelligence, but the heart's embrace of beauty.

When asked what it felt like to see the 5.000 tiles that make up the Pegasus Gate, created by the children of Librino, Presti replied: “The artistic process not only fosters sharing but also a vision of the future, because I've been doing this work in Librino for over 30 years, and it's a constant sowing of seeds, which has always found the participation of four generations through sharing.

Today we are not speaking here about a week-long workshop, we are talking about a lifelong commitment, about an artist who, in the name of devotion, still sows here after 30 years and makes his own path by walking the path of the heart."
