The Council of Ministers approved bills establishing further forms and special conditions of autonomy, pursuant to Article 116, paragraph 3, of the Constitution, for the regions of Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, and Veneto.
Full speed ahead with autonomy! Tonight's Cabinet approval of the definitive agreements with Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont, and Veneto is a huge satisfaction, as a minister, as an Italian, and as a member of the Northern League.

"Now there's Parliament," Lombardy President Attilio Fontana told Adnkronos, leaving Palazzo Chigi. "Today, autonomy took a decisive step forward in the Council of Ministers: we signed the final agreements with the four regions that initiated this process, approving the draft final agreements, and approved the respective bills for Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont, and Veneto.
This is an important institutional step, and above all, a decisive one for the reform, which is now ready to begin its journey through Parliament,” says the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies, Roberto Calderoli.

We have worked hard, with conviction and relentlessly, and now the result is closer than ever. There is still a final mile to go in Parliament, and I can't wait to get started," adds Calderoli.
The Council of Ministers has reportedly approved the Draft Budgetary Document. The Draft Budgetary Document must be submitted to the European Union by October 15th.
The meeting did not present the outline of the draft bill on the State Budget for the 2027 financial year and the multi-year budget for the three-year period 2027-2029. Also on the agenda was the draft legislative decree for supplementary and corrective provisions to the consolidated texts on administrative and criminal tax penalties, minor state taxes, tax justice, and payments and collections.
The change in the agenda of the 7:00 PM Council of Ministers, according to sources at Palazzo Chigi, is due to a "mere clerical error." In fact, an agenda item that had not yet been updated was submitted. Moreover, it should be noted that it was Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti himself who clarified in the chamber that the budget bill would be approved at a later date.
