Kimmarie Johnson, an American actress known for her role on the hit television series "Beverly Hills, 90210" and a former Miss Pennsylvania pageant winner, has died at the age of 50. Her granddaughter Rhonda Scott announced her passing to People magazine. Johnson died on Wednesday, November 4, after suffering a heart condition at her home in Los Angeles on October 27.
Transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, she was diagnosed with a heart aneurysm. "She radiated such a strong, bright light. Those who came into contact with her felt only positive energy," her granddaughter said, remembering her as a presence capable of leaving an impact on everyone she met.
Johnson had begun his career path away from the world of entertainment, working as a flight attendant.
She later entered the modeling industry, signing a contract with the Docherty modeling agency. In 1992, she participated in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant, winning despite having no previous beauty pageant experience. Her success earned her a spot in the 1993 Miss USA pageant, where she placed in the top six.
In 1996, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her modeling career and explore acting. Her screen debut came in 1998 with the drama "Let's Talk About Sex," directed by Troy Byer. That same year, she appeared in an episode of the television series "Beverly Hills, 90210," playing the character of Judy.
Throughout her career, she had also acted in film and television productions such as "Getting High," "Shadow Fury," "Break a Leg," and "Tucker War." In 2003, she became the mother of her son Cameron Nino, a new phase in her life that led her to temporarily step away from the stage. During her hiatus, she continued to cultivate her artistic training, also taking courses at The Groundlings, the improvisation and acting school in Los Angeles.
