(Adnkronos) – Jannik Sinner and Darren Cahill will end their partnership at the end of the 2026 season, after five years of shared success. Magnus Norman, former world number 2, will join Sinner's coaching staff at the beginning of next month, alongside Simone Vagnozzi. This is according to a statement released by the Italian champion's staff.

Cahill joined Sinner's staff in June 2022 and, alongside Simone Vagnozzi, played a key role in the Italian's rise to the top of tennis.

Thanks to this collaboration, Sinner has won five Grand Slam titles and two ATP Finals titles, also completing the Career Golden Masters with victories in all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments. In June 2024, he also achieved the world number one ranking for the first time: achievements that reflect years of dedication, continuous improvement and a shared belief in what they could achieve together.

Beyond these successes, Cahill's experience, vision and calm presence have had a lasting influence on Sinner.

“Darren has been an incredibly important part of my journey. Together with Simone and the entire team, we have achieved goals I've dreamed of since I was a child. Winning five Grand Slam titles and reaching world No. 1 together are achievements I will cherish forever, but equally important is the relationship we've built along the way,” said Sinner.

“I want to thank Darren for the trust he has placed in me, for his honesty and his dedication. He has helped me grow both as a tennis player and as a person, and his advice will be with me throughout my career.” And again: “I want to thank Darren for the trust he has placed in me, for his honesty and his dedication. He has helped me grow both as a player and as a person, and his teachings will be with me throughout my career. We have shared so many special moments over the last five years, and even though our collaboration as coach and student is coming to an end, our friendship will continue.”

“Working with Jannik has been a special honor and privilege,” Cahill explained. “He's an extraordinary guy, a humble champion dedicated to the cause of whom we are all incredibly proud. Trust, honesty, and belief only work when they're mutual, and that was Jannik's strength as an athlete. It's also why coaching someone like him was such a memorable experience.” The former coach concluded with a wish for the future: “I want to thank Jannik, the entire team, and all the fans for welcoming this Australian into the wonderful Italian family. I wish the team nothing but continued success for years to come.”
