(Adnkronos) – "There's a lot of talk about the Olympic legacy, but in many editions of the Games it was only talked about, without doing anything. Here, however, it is becoming a reality, with an infrastructure that Fondazione Fiera Milano built in less than five months, and this is truly incredible." These are the words of Christof Leitner, president of Milano Hockey Club, during a press tour of the Fiera Ice Arena, the new facility dedicated to ice sports built by Fondazione Fiera Milano in preparation for the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. This evening, the venue will host Milano Hockey Club's first home game, against Hockey Club Innsbruck, in the ninth round of the Ice Hockey League.
This multipurpose facility will host not only ice hockey, but also "other ice sports like figure skating," Leitner explained, "and it's also open to the public, so anyone who wants to experience the thrill of ice skating can come here to Rho. The project is very important and was created not just for Rho or Milan," he concluded, "but for the whole of Lombardy."
