(Adnkronos) – The sole judge in Rome, in the proceedings against former Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè for defamation against Giuseppe Zeno, a minority shareholder of the Visibilia company, has raised the jurisdictional dispute with the Constitutional Court after the Senate last July recognized the unchallengeability of the opinions expressed in the Chamber and denied authorization to proceed.
At this morning's hearing, the defense requested that the Senate's ruling be acknowledged and a dismissal be declared. Judge Emilia Conforti, deeming it necessary to raise the jurisdictional conflict, ordered the case to be sent to the Constitutional Court, requesting a declaration that the Senate was not empowered to assess the conduct attributable to Senator Santanchè.
