"More than 40 of us MEPs have been victims of deepfakes, a form of digital violence that has become the latest frontier of gender-based violence," said Alessandra Moretti, MEP for the Democratic Party, denouncing the use of artificial intelligence as a "tool to silence exposed women, even in politics, to restrain them and weaken their resolve."

Moretti emphasizes that female parliamentarians will not stop: "We will be increasingly determined, together with our male colleagues, to combat this cultural and political degradation," committing ourselves across the board to ensuring that women are "free to engage in politics without this form of intimidation."
