(Adnkronos) – “It's important to celebrate our 50th anniversary and see how our company has developed in Italy. But above all, from a forward-looking perspective, we must think ahead to the next 50 years and understand how our company can help the country's healthcare system and Italian patients find answers to all their healthcare needs.

So let's think in terms of research: how much more research can be done in Italy? Johnson & Johnson already has more than 127 active studies and 7.500 patients involved. Let's think in terms of production and the value brought by a major site like Latina, which produces more than 4 billion tablets and exports 97% of its production.

But we also think in terms of access, innovation, and new therapies that can allow patients with conditions that still have unmet needs to find answers to their care needs,” said Jacopo Murzi, CEO of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Italia, at the event organized at the Latina plants to celebrate the 50th anniversary of pharmaceuticals in Italy.

The CEO then outlined the country's priorities for the next 50 years. "The most important," he explained, "relate to the time it takes to access medicines, because patients can't wait: time is not a neutral variable.

Then there is a priority related to leveraging the investments made in a major country like Italy. And finally, perhaps the most important priority, is to enable governance that also helps companies better plan and predict the key elements of the Italian healthcare system, in order to plan further investments in the country.
