The murder dates back to December 23, 2024 , a few days before Christmas. Francesco Capuano was hit by several bullets while sitting in his car, parked in the shared garage of his home in Suzzara.
It was the daughter herself who contacted emergency services , claiming she had briefly left the house to retrieve an item forgotten before going out with her father to run some errands. Upon her return, a few minutes later, she reportedly found the 79-year-old man dead inside the car. This story, however, did not convince investigators, who began investigating every possible lead until they finally focused their suspicions on the woman, then 46.
As highlighted by Adnkronos , a crucial piece of information emerged during searches in Giugliano, in the province of Naples, the Capuano family's hometown and where Rosa had returned to live after her father's death: inside her beauty case, the soldiers found a .22 caliber revolver , along with three shell casings of the same caliber as those used to kill the elderly man. Arrested in March 2025, the woman denied any involvement.
The confession only came during today's hearing. According to the investigative reconstruction, the motive lies in the difficult relationship with her father : Rosa felt "subservient" to the man, with whom she cared daily, and developed a desire to free herself from that situation.
