Moments of fear occurred on Tuesday morning in Rozzano, in the southern hinterland of Milan, where a shot was fired around 10 am in the area between Via Petunie and Via Lilà , a few metres from a nursery school.
According to initial investigations by the Carabinieri, as reported by Il Giorno , it was a single shot , not a prolonged exchange of fire. Immediately afterward, five young men, described by witnesses as being of North African origin, were seen rapidly moving away in different directions, including through nearby Parco 2.
Their identity and possible involvement in the episode remain to be ascertained.
The noise frightened residents, some of whom locked themselves in their homes, while teachers immediately gathered the children who were playing in the kindergarten garden and escorted them inside the building. No injuries were reported.

The incident has rekindled concerns among residents in the neighborhood, where some have long reported deterioration and illegal activity. Mayor Mattia Ferretti also addressed the matter, announcing that he would address the issue in a previously scheduled meeting with the prefect, " with the aim of reviewing safety in the neighborhood and the measures to be taken to combat drug dealing and incidents of violence ."
