Ranucci: "I'm not running. I'm more of a nuisance as the host of Report. Secret chats? There aren't any."

(Adnkronos) - "I'm not here to get involved in politics, I'm not running for office. I'm the host of Report, I'm more of a nuisance as a host, and I want to be the host of Report. If I don't do this, I'll do something else. I'm not a center-left leader, I'm here to present my book...

(Adnkronos) – “I’m not here to get involved in politics, I’m not running for office. I’m the host of Report, I’m more of a nuisance as a host, and I want to be the host of Report. If I don’t do this, I’ll do something else. I’m not a center-left leader, I’m here to present my book.” So said Sigfrido Ranucci, attending the AVS national party in Rome.

When asked if there is a possibility of reinstatement at Report, the journalist replies: “There is a possibility.”

After the accusations regarding the Signal chats between Sigfrido Ranucci and Valter Lavitola, the journalist, intercepted by reporters at the Avs national party in Rome, replied: “There are no secret chats, it's all bullshit.

I have been wiretapped for over a year like everyone else close to me."

Meanwhile, the Rome Prosecutor's Office has initiated the extradition process for Gomes Tavares, currently a fugitive in Africa and accused of acting as an intermediary between Valter Lavitola and the gang that physically carried out the attack outside Sigfrido Ranucci's home in October 2025.

A necessary step is the translation of the documents into French, which is currently being completed, before an international rogatory letter is sent in preparation for the extradition request. Regarding the investigation, Rome prosecutors have reportedly not yet intended to summon Lavitola's ex-wife to the Prosecutor's Office. She has said she is willing to disclose the facts to investigators.
