“These are the most difficult days of my life. I struggle to find the words and it's very difficult for me to process what happened. I feel immense pain for the loss of Jesús. My thoughts go out to him, his family, and all the people who loved him.” These are the words of Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono, breaking his silence following the tragic death of Jesús De Miguel, the Tenerife striker who died following a violent collision with the Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper.

"I know there will be many issues to address, and I will address them with the utmost respect. But right now, honestly, all I can think about is Jesús and the pain we are experiencing. Rest in peace, Jesús," Owono concluded in a post on Andorra's official social media channels. The club, for its part, asked for "the utmost sensitivity and respect."

"Today, before starting training, we stopped to remember Jesús de Miguel and express our condolences to his family and everyone at CD Tenerife. Rest in peace, Jesús," the club wrote in a second post.
