Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – Israeli Culture Minister Miki Zohar has threatened to revoke the citizenship of Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, directors of the documentary 'Naza,' which won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. In a post on X, Zohar described the film as "vile," saying it "constitutes a betrayal of the state."
“It is precisely for this reason that I spearheaded the important film reform, so that Israeli citizens no longer have to pay out of their own pockets for the damage done to Israel Defense Forces soldiers and the State of Israel,” Zohar said, referring to his reform of government funding for the local film industry.
Also in a social media post, Ben Gvir, Israel's Minister of National Security, accused the two directors of denigrating Israeli soldiers and called them "a shame and a disgrace for the entire people of Israel.
"To those who slander our heroic fighters, who risk their lives so we can live in peace and security, I say: You are a disgrace and a disgrace to the entire people of Israel. Go away," Ben Gvir wrote.
The minister then added, still addressing Abraham and Szor: “I am sure that your friends, our enemies Hamas in Gaza, will be happy to welcome you.”
