An explosion occurred during the night in Brussels, in front of a house not far from NATO headquarters.
Explosion in the night in front of a house
There were moments of fear last night in Brussels , where an explosion occurred around 3:45 a.m. in front of a house on Rue Père Damien in Evere . A spokesperson for the Brussels fire brigade confirmed the incident to the Belga agency.
Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries. One person, who was left in shock by the loud bang, was treated by emergency responders on the scene.
The explosion, however, caused damage to the building. Specifically, the facade and front door of the residence were damaged. The circumstances that caused the explosion are still unclear, and investigations are underway to determine the source of the explosion.
The site of the explosion near NATO headquarters
The incident also attracted particular attention due to the location of the house involved. Evere , in fact, is located in the Brussels-Capital Region and is home to NATO headquarters , located approximately two kilometers from the site of the explosion. The area is also frequented and inhabited by officials of the Atlantic Alliance, who often live near the headquarters.
No evidence has yet emerged linking the explosion to NATO presence in the area. Authorities will now need to clarify the nature of the incident and determine whether it was an accident or whether there may have been another cause behind the damage to the home.
