Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist and media editor at iLMeteo.it, confirms that the frontal system's origin lies in the deepening of a vast oceanic trough. This marked development of a low pressure system over the British Isles (a phenomenon known in meteorology as cyclogenesis) will channel moist, cool, and unstable air masses directly toward the Mediterranean basin.
Sunday will be characterized by generally stable weather conditions, albeit with residual precipitation (less than 5-10 mm/24 hours) limited to the southern regions. The influx of colder air and clearing overnight will favor lows of 4-5°C in the Po Valley and a widespread drop in central Italy as well; highs will generally hover around 15-19°C, with localized higher peaks only in the south.
For the start of the new week, the models outline a significant expansion of the anticyclone field across much of the peninsula, which will guarantee stable weather and a temperature increase of 3-4°C (up to +6°C in the Tri-Veneto region), bringing temperatures everywhere above seasonal averages.
