(Adnkronos) – “Alessandro can't wait to resume his battles and is facing the post-surgery phase in the best possible way.” The Schierarsi Association, founded by
Alessandro Di Battista
, reappears after days of silence to comfort the many concerned about the health of the former Five Star Movement MP. Di Battista, who fell ill in Cuba at the end of August and underwent surgery in Havana only last Saturday, when he was supposed to return to Rome, is reportedly ready to return to Italy, according to what Adnkronos has learned from parliamentary sources.
The health insurance company is reportedly working to bring Dibba back to the capital as early as Friday.
"Alessandro was operated on in Havana by Cuban doctors," Schierarsi wrote in their post. "We wish to thank them wholeheartedly for their extraordinary work, for their professionalism, and for the dedication with which they addressed an extremely delicate situation, once again confirming the excellence of Cuban healthcare."
Special thanks go to the Neurosurgery Department of the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital, which cared for Alessandro during these difficult days. Sincere thanks go to the Italian authorities, the Farnesina Crisis Unit, and, in particular, Ambassador Simona De Martino, who followed and managed every step of this delicate moment for Alessandro and his family with great care and sensitivity.
We would also like to thank the Cuban authorities for their attention and support throughout this entire affair."
Regarding his actual health conditions, total confidentiality remains. "We reiterate the need to exercise the utmost caution when disseminating information," the association concludes.
