In the Chamber of Deputies, a 'touch' vote, QR codes, and new high-definition cameras will be held: the chamber will be renovated for the resumption of work.

(Adnkronos) – New terminals, with touchscreens and QR codes, for members of Parliament on the benches of the Chamber of Deputies. Upon the resumption of full session in the chamber, President Giorgio Mulè presented to his colleagues the new features introduced thanks to the work that continued in Montecitorio during the month of August. The terminals have been replaced with new models with touchscreen displays that can also be used for voting, with the exception of secret ballots, which will continue to be conducted using the traditional keypad.

Thanks to the new terminals, the validity of the vote will be confirmed by the illumination of a colored band on the screen indicating whether a vote was in favor, against, or abstention, and by a red, green, or white light depending on the vote. Members also now have access to the agenda for the session, the subject and outcome of the votes, the number of votes cast, and the votes in which each of them participated.

Thanks to a QR code, it is also possible to have access to parliamentary documents and related documentation.  

A series of additional voting information has been made available only to group leaders: percentages of participation of the group's members and votes cast by each member, important details such as the quotas for the topic under consideration, with an indication of the time allotted, additional, elapsed, and remaining.

Another series of 'summer' interventions concerned the audiovisual system with the complete replacement of the cameras, now in high definition, the control equipment and the broadcast method of the shots, further improvements compared to those recently introduced in Montecitorio with the latest works.
