On October 14, 2026, during the evening hours in central Milan, an incident occurred that put the spotlight on the protagonists of the gossip column: Fabrizio Corona and the host of Affari Tuoi, Stefano De Martino . The scene of the incident was identified near San Babila, a busy area where, according to initial reconstructions, a reckless car raced across approximately 700 meters of road.
In the following days, three different versions of the incident were circulated, ranging from a simple traffic jam to a full-blown chase through the city streets. The news outlets initially reported that Corona had been stopped by a Carabinieri patrol and charged with driving without a license and reckless evasion. To this day, the truth of the matter remains unclear, with the statements of those involved remaining unclear.
Contrasting versions of the chase
Corona's story on Telegram
On the afternoon of October 15, the former paparazzi king used his Telegram channel to call the reports spread as fake news and attached a video filmed on the night of October 14. Corona claimed that, after the attack on October 10 by some "Calabrese criminals," they had returned to his home and attempted a burglary.
In his defense, he said he got into his car and chased the suspects, adding: “The usual newsagents make up lies to catch a few clicks before they fail.” The video allegedly shows a single car in motion, not a gang, and Corona claims he was stopped when, in his opinion, the police should have intervened on those fleeing.
The reconstructions of Dandolo and Lucarelli
At the same time, Alberto Dandolo published an exclusive report alleging a direct pursuit of Stefano De Martino . According to his account, Corona, driving an SUV, attempted to overtake the driver's motorcycle, forcing the latter to call the police to report the reckless driving. A few hours later, Selvaggia Lucarelli confirmed in her newsletter that Corona had indeed been stopped without a license, specifying: "The license, for a change, wasn't there." Lucarelli also added that the chase involved De Martino, reversing Corona's version of events that spoke of a "gang" of attackers.
Legal consequences and reactions
Law enforcement officers stopped Corona after about 700 meters, as reported by initial witnesses, and detained him to verify his driver's license. The investigation confirmed the absence of a document, thus confirming the charge of driving without a license . The incident concluded with a charge of dangerous driving, but the details of how the pursuit ended remain a matter of debate.
To date, Stefano De Martino has not released any official statements regarding the phone call to the Carabinieri or the event itself. Their shared relationship with Belén Rodríguez has, however, maintained a cordial appearance, despite the tensions generated by the incident. De Martino's lack of comment further fuels the mystery surrounding the entire episode, leaving room for new theories and a possible judicial investigation.
