(Adnkronos) – “I wear very little makeup, I do it myself.” Donald Trump confesses live what everyone, more or less, has always known. The President of the United States takes the stage in Dalton, Georgia, for a rally ahead of the midterm elections in early November. “If you don't wear a little makeup, you look like a dead person.
“I don’t want to look like that,” says the president, highlighting his sobriety compared to the habits of John Osshoff, Democratic senator from Georgia.
"John Osshoff often has more money in makeup than any man or woman in the history of the Senate. The women aren't happy about that; he's spent a fortune," Trump says, warming up the crowd in one of the more curious passages of his usual marathon rally, which lasts well over an hour and offers the usual repertoire of economics and foreign policy successes, gags to ridicule opponents of Republican candidates, and attacks on the 'fake news media.'
The makeup joke, along with the "confession," represents at least a partial novelty. The president's traditional complexion, often tending toward orange, has always left little room for doubt about the use of cosmetic products in the White House.
