(Adnkronos) – After 11 months, the Trevallion children are returning to the "house in the woods," where they will spend their first weekend with their parents. "This morning, a few minutes before 10 a.m.," explains the couple's lawyer, Simone Pillon, "Nathan and Catherine showed up at the family home. The children literally flew into their mom and dad's arms, full of joy, then climbed into the car with them, carrying their little suitcases, and the whole family set off for Palmoli."

"Given the beautiful day," the lawyer added, "they will spend a few hours with their animals and then this afternoon they will go to the municipal building, where they will spend the night. Tomorrow afternoon they will return to Vasto, accompanied by their mother and father."

“It was beautiful to see the happiness in their eyes and to hear Nathan and Catherine finally serene and happy,” Pillon said, recounting that Nathan said: “It’s the best day I’ve had in a year.”

According to the lawyer, this is "another important step toward the permanent return, which we hope will be ordered as soon as possible. We thank the mayor, who has ensured the usual measures, and the journalists who have respected the family's privacy, as we requested. It is also right to underline the important role played by the institutions in this matter, starting with the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini and then with the progressive involvement of President Marco Marsilio, Councilor Santangelo, Ombudsman Terragni, and the President of the Children's Commission Brambilla.

As evidence of this commitment, next Wednesday, October 21st, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Maria Teresa Bellucci will meet with Nathan and Catherine in Palmoli, whom I had requested to speak with. Before this meeting, the Deputy Minister will also meet with Social Services workers and child neuropsychiatry experts. I am personally very grateful to all those involved in this matter who have been able to find common ground for dialogue in the best interests of the minors, and I hope that with the upcoming judicial deadlines (scheduled for October 30th at the Juvenile Court and November 3rd at the Court of Appeal) the matter can find a peaceful conclusion.
