(Adnkronos) – “As you know, every citizen can deduct” healthcare expenses “the following year, but if someone is ill, we need to find a way” to recover the expenses during the year through “cashback or a sort of credit card focused on the elderly, for healthcare expenses that are not covered by the national health service.”
This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking at the Confindustria young entrepreneurs conference on the upcoming budget law.
"Reducing taxes on the thirteenth salary is a priority for us. The thirteenth salary should be addressed in the next budget," the minister continued.
"Release severance pay for young people's first years of work."
"It's something we're working on for young people" who "maybe want to buy a house or go to university," the minister launched the proposal ahead of the next budget law.
"A center-right government cannot attack part of our economic system, because the banking system is essential for supporting businesses," Tajani explained, commenting on the sidelines of the conference on the possibility of including a contribution from credit institutions in the budget.
"The government mustn't be aggressive, the government must be engaging." "No one thinks anyone will die; it's a question of manners, of the way we interact with the business world," adds the minister.
We must also be "careful not to let everything reverberate on account holders," Tajani warns. Therefore, "we must be very cautious and also take into account the specific nature of our system, which is a binary system: large banks and local banks, which are the mutual banks and the cooperative banks. Therefore, we must always delve into the issue, not with demagoguery, not with aggression, because aggression never pays. A moderate government, a center-right government, must always be inclusive, as we have done in the past. We have a three-year agreement with the banking and insurance system, and we have also found a way to involve the energy companies without imposing taxes. So, the fewer taxes, the better. We will discuss it, we will discuss it with great calm."
